An inventory of archival materials that refer to care during the period will be drawn up.

This will present the relevant material types and the information they contain, as well as guidelines for navigating the material. The types of material may include patient records, administrative archives, photographs, audio and video recordings, as well as written materials associated with individual institutions (e.g. residents' newspapers).

To ensure a systematic review of the relevant material, archivist Peter Fransen from the Danish State Archives has been linked to the project.

Most of the archive material has been handed over to the Danish State Archives, which has in recent years systematically collected source materials on social care and its institutions. Other archive materials are held by the City Archive or local archives. A considerable amount of material is also available in museums and collections at former institutions, hospitals, children's homes and workhouses.

If you know of private collections of archival material, please get in touch.
